Israel-Hamas flare-up: Where next?

Israel and Hamas appeared close to a new conflict for much of Monday, though the situation calmed with the announcement of a ceasefire by the Islamist group. Israel has not yet confirmed the deal and fears remain of more violence in the build-up to the country's general election in two weeks.
